Effective May 1, 2023

WHITE TAIL CROSSFIT WILL BECOME GRAND MESA CROSSFIT, led by rebecca remus.

"When Damon opened these doors in 2014, he set out to build a fitness community. A community full of athletes who encourage and push each other, a community led by coaches who are relentless in helping people move better, and a community that is more than just a workout.

That community will still exist, but it is time for that community to welcome a new leader.

As much as I wish I could give 100% of myself to running this gym, and 100% of myself to continuing my career, and 100% of myself to raising our daughter… I’m only human. Above all else, I need to do what is best for my daughter and I. As someone recently reminded me, there is no wrong decision when I’m putting her and I first.

It isn’t an easy decision, and people will have different thoughts and opinions on it. That is okay. It is what I need to do for my daughter and I, and that is what is most important to me. If there is anything I have learned in the last couple of years, it’s that life can be so short, and anything I can do to be more present for her is what I am going to do."

FAQ:

BUILDING & EQUIPMENT

  • How will we accomodate additional members from Grand Mesa (from a space and equipment perspective)?
    • The gym space will be significantly larger (about 2x). Rebecca has a construction crew coming in throughout March and April to renovate the back half of the building (behind the teal wall). The entire property at 1103 Leader Dr. will be Grand Mesa CrossFit. From an equipment perspective, all of the equipment from the current Grand Mesa CrossFit location will be moved into our building. There will be 2x the amount of equipment.
  • Will the gym be closed during the renovations?
    • The gym will not be closed during renovations. Grand Mesa will only be renovating the back half of the building (behind the teal wall) in March/April. After the final Community WOD on April 29, 2023, the teal wall will come down and the final Grand Mesa touches will be put on the building.
  • Will there be new/upgraded equipment?
    • New equipment will be purchased as-needed.

MEMBERSHIP

  • What will the membership options be?
    • Grand Mesa will offer an Unlimited membership only. Punchcards will also be avaiIable.
  • What will the membership pricing be?
    • Unlimited membership will remain the same ($145/month) for existing members. New members (members who join May 1st and beyond) will be $155/month. Additional family members can be added for $100/month. Punch cards will be 5 classes for $75.
  • Are there any discounts?
    • 15% discount for First Responders/Nurses/Veterans/Military/Educators/Students (with student ID), as well as $100 membership price for additional family members.
  • If I am currently receiving a discounted White Tail membership for a discount not offered by Grand Mesa, will that be honored when we move to Grand Mesa?
    • Yes.
  • How will we move our membership over to Grand Mesa?
    • You will need to set-up a new account in PushPress (membership management platform), and SugarWOD (workout tracking platform). This will need to be done by May 1st to avoid any issues when you attend class on May 1st. We will send PushPress a list of all current members email addresses in April, and they will send individual invites to get your profile set-up.
  • Can I jump into some classes at Grand Mesa before the official move over?
    • Absolutely. Please just reach out to rebecca@grandmesacrossfit.com to give Rebecca a heads up you will be coming.
  • Where can I find a copy of the Grand Mesa membership agreement?

    • If there is a want from members, and a coach available- absolutely.
  • Are class reservations required?
    • Strongly encouraged.
  • Do we plan on increasing the class limit?
    • With the larger space, classes will be able to accommodate a larger number of athletes. Athletes will not be turned away if they show up to a class they forgot to reserve a spot for (but please reserve your place in class so your coaches can prepare and accommodate as needed!).

    • We will have multiple coaches for larger class times until we find the right coach-athlete ratio for our gym.
  • What will a typical 60-minute class look like?
    • A certified coach will guide you through warming up, followed by movement instruction and demonstration for the workout. The Coach will supervise and correct any movement performed by you during the workout.
  • What are the kids class times?
    • Currently, the kids class runs Tuesday and Thursday from 4-4:30pm. Additional class times could be added in the near future depending on interest and coach availability. Stay tuned for a teens class starting up on Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30pm if interest and coach availability are there.
  • What can we expect from the kids class?
    • The kids class is based on the Mayhem kids programming with modifications from the coach based on equipment, athletes enrolled, etc.
  • How much does the kids class cost?
    • $65/month.

COACHES

  • Will we get to keep our coaches?
    • Rebecca would LOVE as many of the White Tail coaches to remain at this location, and coach for Grand Mesa, as possible. Coaches will be spoken to individually mid-April to discuss their coaching goals and plans. As of now, most all White Tail coaches have already expressed interest in continuing coaching for Grand Mesa under Rebecca.

OTHER

  • Why are we just finding out about this now?
    • All coaches and members have found out about the transition as soon as it was official. The lease agreement was officially signed March 13, 2023, the announcement was made to coaches March 14, 2023, and the announcement was made to members March 15, 2023. As with any business opportunity, there are a number of things that could have not worked out before this point. That being said, we agreed it was best to wait until it was official before making any announcements.
  • What programming will we follow?
    • We will continue to follow Mayhem programming.
  • Can we still purchase WTCF apparel?
    • Up until May 1st, WTCF apparel will still be available at the gym as usual. See a coach for pricing and sizing. Also be sure to place your pre-order for the final WTCF t-shirt here by March 31st.
  • Can I jump into some classes at Grand Mesa before the official move over?
    • Absolutely. Please just reach out to rebecca@grandmesacrossfit.com to give Rebecca a heads up you will be coming, and to what class time.

Please check back for updates over the next couple of months.
